The penis consists of multiple arteries that feed into the erectile tissue. The erectile tissue is divided into chambers that are the termination point of the penile arteries called corpora cavernosa. During arousal, blood flows through these chambers, producing an erection. One determinant of erection size is the volume of blood flow into the erectile chambers.
